This is preowned so there are little flaws here and there. Compared to other similar cast iron sheep I’ve seen, this one is one of the best as far as condition. No cracks or missing pieces. Wonderful antique sheep or ram chocolate mold made in Germany in great all original patina & condition. This is a very nice example with wonderful details. The tin mold is marked “Germany” and has a original metal clamp. The is a very large example, it measures 11″ x 8 1/2″. A very nice example, you will not be disappointed.
Antique Alsace France Glazed Terra Cotta Chocolate Cake Baking Mold Sheep Lamb
Antique Confectioners / Bakers. Terra Cotta Pascal Lamb Mold. Mold has Glazed Interior. These are a rare find….. Especially to find both matching halves and in this condition. Terra cotta molds such as this are from the Alasce region in France. This interior surface of each “half” is glazed….. Glaze has “age crackling” which is exactly what I would expect to see (see pics). Exterior surface of these show signs of wear and age… No clip to hold together but that is an easy find….. All 3 “corner holes” are there and in good shape (see pics). The pictures do a much better job of describing this item than I ever could, please check them out! Antique Chocolate Mold Resting Sheep Lamb (Made in Germany or France)
For your consideration is a charming little antique chocolate mold of a resting lamb/sheep/ewe. It has nice age to it. It is double sided and the original clips are included. This is one of three lamb/sheep molds that I have listed. Early molds were manufactured in France and Germany. This mold does not have a mark for a country of origin, but is likely from one of those countries. It would make a darling addition to a folk art Easter display or used to display with other assorted molds. Perhaps it could be used as a beeswax mold. Height – 3 3/4. Width (at base) – 2 1/4.
