We are pleases to be able to offer for your consideration an Antique French butter mold hand made out of Wood. This lovely antique form was used for molding special pats of butter. The butter was formed on the inside with the mold closed and then the hinge was opened to take the butter out. There is a hand carved image on the inside of a dairy cow standing out in the field. This image is imprinted on every pat of butter that is made in this mould. It is an absolutely charming peace and very good antique condition. The mold still opens and closes and the wood is in good condition. It is very heavy. There are a little bit of worm wood, just enough to give it character. This mold was used for butter but could also be used for chocolate. The measurements are 11 inches long by 5 inches wide by 2 inches tall the interior of the mold a block of butter by 6 1/3 inches long by 1 3/4 inches tall. Please feel free to ask any questions.
