Beautiful mold that I do believe to be a Buffalo but could also be seen as a Cow. Two condition issues to mention. Bottom hinge needs to be tightened. When picked up it droops a bit because it isn’t tight. The pin looks like it is still in there. Secondly, a piece is missing by the foot. Not sure if this was intentional or it is broken. Heavy mold weighing 650 grams or 1.4lbs. Solid brass or copper as it is non magnetic. 5.5″ long and 3.25″ tall. I don’t see any makers marks. You can see patina on the metal. Photos will be best for condition description. I have described this item to the best of my knowledge and photographed it to the best of my ability. If you require further information or more photos, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Hard to find mold #49, attributed to Thomas Mills Bros. Recently used to make clear Toy. This makes beautiful candies. I’ve only seen this particular mold pattern listed once in the last few years. Roughly measures 5 -1/2 by 2 -1/2 by 3/4. Metal has never been tested, but appears to be their original composition material. Great addition for mold collectors and candy makers!
This is copper and dates back to about 1900. It may not look like a dolphin but this is what it is. This is copper lined with tin on the inside. Some of the earliest chocolate molds were made with copper. The detail on this is just exquisite. Stamped 120 on one side of the mold. About 6 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. Has a lot of patina and verdigris. Inside is lined with tin and has a few small rust spots.
