I recently traveled from Rutland , Vermont to Northport , LI , NY and back on a private estate call. As one can view I mainly deal in wood (furniture). However , as an old school long time dealer I know enough not to leave any interesting smalls. This mold is one of those smalls. Other than a crash course online , I have absolutely no expertise in the field of chocolate mold collecting. However , I do know this mold is special, if not rare. It features four(4) witches riding brooms. Best I could measure it is like 9 1/4″ w X 4 7/8″ h and 2 deep. The brand name is Anton Reiche , Dresden and dates 1920 with a 2 on one end and a 0 on the other. It is stamped mold No 24270. The reverse is stamped with the TC Weygandt mark. After over 50 years of calculated collecting it is my opinion the mold is totally original and has never been apart. It is perfectly aligned. Although made from solid steel I do not view any rust. To my eyes it is simply aged wonderfully. Just what I would look for. It is well marked on both sides and I will allow the pics to tell the story. This mold meets the 3 main criteria of condition-condition-condition. The greenish color on the mold is wax. Maybe was used as an attempt to make a candle. The mold has already been packed by double boxing. This great mold is now near 100 year old. One should expect that there may be an imperfection that I may have missed or one’s translation of opinion. As stated , one should use the zoom feature in order to form one’s own opinion.
