They have the normal wear associated with molds of this age that were used in the making of chocolate treats. The insides are in good condition and there are no holes or splits in the metal. There is an embossed 8069 on the girl and a 8068 on the boy. She is holding a basket of tulips. The boy has his hands in his pockets. The insides of both are shiny. Height Boy: 5 1/2″, width 2 1/2″. Girl: 5 1/4″ x 2 1/4″. They both look like Campbell’s soup kids. They come with the clips in photo. The metal is heavy and created detailed images. This mold is one of the most amazing that I’ve ever had and certainly one of the oldest. This is copper and dates back to about 1900. It’s pictured in the Wolf book on chocolate molds on page 30. This is copper lined with tin on the inside. Some of the earliest chocolate molds were made with copper. The detail on this is just exquisite. Stamped 140 on one side. That is the mold number. 5 1/2 inches tall and about 5 inches wide. Has a lot of patina and verdigris. Inside is lined with tin and has a few small rust spots.
Up for consideration is a Policeman, traffic cop chocolate mold with the word STOP in his hand. Marked “Made in Germany” and ” Van Emden Co New York” and “Agent for Walter of Berlin”. Antique Vintage BIG FISH Chocolate Mold. This Mold is made by Matfer in Paris, France. But It is not signed. The mold is signed with Made in France. Pictured and listed in. CHOCOLATE MOULDS A History & Encyclopedia by Judene Divone. This Mold is highly rated as a B2. Dates of manufacture were 1907 to 1950. This mold would make a solid chocolate Fish. Nice heavy gauge metal used for this mold. This mold is in Very Nice Beautiful Condition. This mold fits nice and tight together and it is a truly matched mold. This Beautiful FISH Chocolate Mold measures 6″ tall by 12″ wide and is 3 deep. Fantastic Detailing in this Fish Mold! This mold and fits together snugly and is a truly matched mold. In very good used vintage condition. Comes with two large tin clips. You will find scratches, dings, scuffs and some rust and the usual wear and tear – all commensurate with age.
