Original GRISWOLD Cast Iron Santa Claus Chocolate/Cake Mold #897/898 Antique. This is really a nice one. No cracks, chips, rust or repairs. This one has the famous crack that is not really a crack but rather from a flaw in the early mold. The crack (that is not a crack) is on the front. This came from a mark in the mold that the molten iron was poured into. This crack is only found in the early originals. (Fakes do not have a crack). On the front it has Hello Kiddies! It is properly marked Griswold Mfg. The front mold # is 897 and the back mold # is 898. He weighs in at 7 1/2 pounds. He stands 12 high. The bottom measures 4 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.
