Easter Chocolate Egg Mold. This metal Easter Egg Mold is fully intact and in working order. The patent appears to be on improvements to the clamping mechanism. The design is of an Easter Bunny and a young girl with a parasol. Was formed in 1880 in New York and seems to have continued to operate through the 1960’s into the’70’s by pivoting to plastic products and novelty molds. Very nice original condition, hinge and clamp mechanism intact, see photos. Size: 3.5 inches tall egg shape, by 4 inches wide including clamp and hinge, 2 inch thick when closed. I THINK A GOOD PIECE FOR YOUR COLLECTION. I SEE NO DAMAGE. DATED 1894, SEE PHOTOS. Liberty (Miss Columbia) from 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition was made by Schall (S & Co) and is numbered #559. Your mold #1032 was made by Eppelsheimer E&Co. And depicts Trilby, the key character in George DuMaurier’s very popular 1894 novel, Trilby. I recieved this information from another member. Christmas Theme Heavy Copper Pewter Mold Chocolate / Candy / Ice Cream Krauss
I initially thought it was a pepper grinder or a mortar of sorts but it has a bow on the front so I have suggested it be a Christmas / Holiday mold. If you know what it is, I would be interested to hear. It is numbered 556 and is very heavy weighing 347 grams or 3/4 of a pound. About 3.5″ high and 3″ at the widest part where the hinge is. Signs of age and patina to the metal. Hinges are solid and functional. Photos will best describe condition.
