Antique Chocolate Mold Heris Rabbit Driving Cargo Hauler #4194 Germany
This mold was made sometime between 1955 – 1960. The mold model number is stamped on the mold. However, in the attached photograph, and on the mold itself, the first digit (4) is hard to see but it is there. It is above the body of the truck near the clip on one side. Near the bunny tail, on both sides of the mold, there is a “4” stamped. This means that the it is the 4th mold — meaning that each are the other’s matched half of the mold. The length of the mold is about 6 1/2. The height of the mold is about 5. Obviously, there is a lot of oxidation on the mold that is commensurate with age. Antique Chocolate Mold OLD WORLD SANTA Eppelsheimer #6347 Very Good Condition. Pre World War ll. This Old World Santa, St. Nick, or Father Christmas is dressed in a long coat pointed hat and a pair of boots. The coat has an interesting hem on the bottom. A few of these types of Santa’s that ive see are wearing a long robe. It was used in a quaint New England Mom and Pop candy store for many years.. This mold is in very good condition and comes complete with authentic clamp bars. The Makers Mark and mold number are visible. The mold will make a wonderfully detailed solid chocolate Old World Santa that will be 4 1/2 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide at the elbows. The mold is rated in rarity by Judene Divone’s book as B4. Provenance: The chocolate mold was used by a professional confectioner in Monroeville, PA (outside of Pittsburgh). The confectioner is now deceased. The confectionery was known as Danny’s Candies formerly located at 3828 Wm. The son told me that his father started out in business with a donut shop and then expanded to offer hard candies and chocolates. For ease of use, I believe that this confectioner added on the hinges and clamps to this chocolate mold. The ornaments shown in the first photograph are not included.
