Mold measures approximately 8 tall x 4 wide. A casting from mold measures approximately 7½tall x 3 wide. Condition shows wear consistent with age and use. Wonderful Antique Vintage ST. NICHOLAS WITH STAFF – OLD WORLD SANTA Chocolate Mold. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL SANTA AND DOWN THROUGH THE AGES HE EVOLVED TO THE PRESENT DAY SANTA CLAUS! This mold is not signed or numbered. This mold is BEAUTIFUL! Has that dark gray Patina that collectors love. Measures 7 1/2″ tall and 4″ wide and 2 deep. This mold would make a solid chocolate St. Very very Nice used condition. Nice heavy gauge metal used for this Santa. Nice and clean inside so you can make chocolate Santa’s. The Santa fits nice and tight together and it is a truly matched mold. You will find scratches, scuffs and the usual wear and tear – all commensurate with age. Has a wonderful old patina. This mold has honest wear and was in service many decades. This is in Very Very Nice Antique Vintage Condition. This is a FABULOUS ST. NICHOLAS to add to your Chocolate Mold Collection! Old World Santa Father Christmas Belsnickle Belsnickel holding switches and a bag with teddy bear peeking out. Mold measures approximately 8 tall x 3.75 wide. A casting from mold measures approximately 7.75 tall x 3.25 wide. Condition shows wear consistent with age and use. After much research, I was unable to find this particular mold anywhere online or in any of the books I have. The closest example I could find was a 4.75 ca. Is consistent with the Anton Reiche numbering and dating found in Judene Divones 1987 Chocolate Moulds: A History and Encyclopedia. Therefore, I can only assume that this mold is very rare and priced accordingly. If you have any additional information, please let me know and I will update this listing. Rare antique metal chocolate tin mold Santa, German Belsnickle, Primitive Country Father Christmas. This detailed antique chocolate candy mold has beautiful movement, detailing, and expression which allows for the finished piece to have a wonderfully exaggerated posture and head tilt as if to be looking slightly upwards. The Belsnickel has his hand in the textured bag full of apples he carries at his side. The mold is marked with the catalog number of 10281 and measures approx. 6 1/2″ x 3″ at widest points. Perfect for your collecting display, to give as a gift or for chalkware / paper mache / beeswax crafting. During WWII many chocolate factories were either forced to shut down or were bombed, leaving very little standing. In order to save these articles of history some molds were buried so as not to be melted down for the use of their metal content, or were lost to the ravages of war. Antique Chocolate Mold (Schokoladenform) Santa, German Belsnickle Marked LAROUSCH SCHW. This large European Father Christmas mold wears a hooded cape and carries a toy sack at his side with a western cowboy on horseback rather than the normal bag of apples. Larousch began production in 1875 and a mould such as this was considered a tool of the trade with its tight hinges for a very secure fit in the production of such a large chocolate delicacy. During WWII many chocolate factories were either forced to shut down or were bombed, leaving very little standing.
