The mold is rated in rarity by Judene Divone’s book as B4. Provenance: The chocolate mold was used by a professional confectioner in Monroeville, PA (outside of Pittsburgh). The confectioner is now deceased. The confectionery was known as Danny’s Candies formerly located at 3828 Wm. The son told me that his father started out in business with a donut shop and then expanded to offer hard candies and chocolates. For ease of use, I believe that this confectioner added on the hinges and clamps to this chocolate mold. The ornaments shown in the first photograph are not included.
