This mold has a great aged look to both the metal front and the wooden back. There is a separation through the center of the wooden back. This is an antique metal Springerle cookie mold, featuring 12 medieval German guildsmen. Springerle are a type of South German biscuit or cookie with an embossed design. The design is created by pressing the mold onto rolled dough and allowing the impression to dry before baking. These cookies were traditionally made for religious holidays and secular occasions, but are now most commonly associated with Christmas.

This product is a 19th century wax mold for marzipan/springerle cookies, made in Germany by Folk Art. The mold features animal. And bird designs, and is made of beeswax. The unit quantity is one and it is in unit type. The mold is brown in color and is an excellent example of folk art style.

For sale is an antique Santa Claus chocolate mold made by Jaburg Brothers of New York. Jaburg Brothers was founded in 1885. They made equipment for the bakery and candy making industries. This mold is made of a much heavier gauge metal than is typically found. Santa is 4 1/2″ tall and 2″ wide across the arms. The exterior is 4 3/4″ x 3 3/8″. This rare mold has survived for 100 + /-years. It shows its age but its basic form is undamaged and quite usable. Please ask questions and examine the photos closely as they are a good representation of condition.
