Turn of the century chocolate mold pattern was used in the making of chocolate in the shape of a clown circa 1900; which was the dawn of chocolate manufacturing in Europe. This highly detaled two part, cast metal mold, is in the shape of a clown, wearing a fringed collar and a cone top hat, with pronounced rear buttons. One hand is in his pocket while the other is pointing across his body. It is in all original condition with no repairs. The mold is very sturdy, made of heavy metal and ready to be used or simply to be placed on the shelf for the discerning collector of early 1900’s chocolate molds and folk art. It is marked “25” with a cross through a circle and “7530” down the side. I would guess it is of German manufacture and circa 1910 (the center and beginning of the chocolate manufacturing explosion in Europe). Dimensions 7 1/2″ high x 3 3/4″ wide x 2 deep.
