Very Rare Antique & Vintage Triple Easter Rabbit Chocolate Mold. The item is unmarked but bears a strong resemblance to T. Weygandt molds from the 1920s made in the USA. The mold consists of three rabbits banded together on a hinged pewter frame with two clamps. The interior molds are tin. This is a very heavy duty mold weighing in at about 4lbs. There are four knotches on the bottom of the exterior frame so the entire mold can be suspended from a hanging rack. This is a very useful feature not seen on many other molds up for sale! The item is in used condition and shows typical signs of wear and tear given its age (patina; very light rust in spots). It was owned and regularly used by a culinary professional and chocolatier. What’s important to note is that the interior tin molds are in very good shape, which I’m told is crucial to a mold’s functionality and value. Note: in a few spots, there is the tiniest bit of minor rusting/discoloration on the outermost lip of the interior molds. It does not appear that this would affect the chocolate molds.
