Late 19th to early 20th century Ame ri can antique primitive candy/chocolate figurative tin molds. 6 12″ Width x 5″ Height x 3 34 Depth. Weight: 7.2 oz. For sale is this beautiful, fully intact, late 19th to early 20th century Ame ri can antique pressed tin candy or chocolate figurative baking mold, featuring a sheep or lamb resting on the ground, decorated in gold enamel paint. The tin mold is in five parts, with the main body mold being in halves with an oval end cap. Two footed cleats hold the sides of the tin mold firmly together and allow it to rest on a surface or in the oven upright. The figurative mold has a classic Ame ri can Folk Art look and is an outstanding Ame ri can primitive artifact. The gold enamel paint on the mold’s exterior is largely intact, with only a few minor surface scuffs and shallow abrasions. The mold doesn’t suffer from any dings, dents or deformities. Nothing it seemed in 19th century New England, no matter how utilitarian an object might be, was not at least slightly decorative, as was the case with this gold painted sheep/lamb figurative, pressed tin baking mold. Close to how it was originally constituted and a wonderful piece of Ame ric ana. Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
