Up for sale is this unique set of 6 tin chocolate molds. The molds are hinged, and they slide into a rack that holds them closed until the chocolate is set. The rack measures 16.5″ long, 6″ wide, and 6 tall. This set has been in my possession since 1975. It originated in The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, which has historically been home to many restaurants and shops. Beyond that, I don’t know much about its history, but I know I’ve never seen another one like it. Looking at the six individual molds, they measure 5″ wide, 5″ tall, and are 2 wide at the widest point. They are hinged, and when closed, they slide into the rack. The set has a lovely patina, which includes a very light rusty look. However, there is no heavy rust on the piece. This is made of tin, and there are sharp edges and corners present. This set comes to you from my smoke free, pet friendly home, where it has been displayed for many years. It’s time to downsize, and share my treasures with new owners!
